Hi all. My name is Curt and welcome to my world-- or at least the way I see the world. I hope you welcome me to America's new passtime.
Curt-- who is this guy? And what are your credentials anyway, cowboy? Glad you asked. I do not consider myself a great scholar. I do, howver, believe there is much value in a knowledge of several fields such as history, physical sciences, and above all the Bible, plus others. Keeping a watchful eye on current events helps too. While being a great musician is a wonderful thing, chances are it won't be of much value if you don't know anything else about the world around you. Knowing how things work can be downright useful. A strong knowledge of history can help make sense out current events. While it's true everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no one is entitiled to their own facts. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."~~ George Santayana, The Life of Reason, 1905.
I have been a student of the Bible for more than fifteen years. As we go along, you'll see my views on the Bible and religion aren't what you would call mainstream. To my initial surprise, I found this book doesn't say what I was told it did. Learning what it does say is truly an amazing experience. Grasping two concepts forever changed my understanding. One was the Messiah did not come to change or abolish His Father's law (Matt 5:17-19, Isaiah 42:21, and others like them). The other was the Father does not change (Malachai 3:6, James 1:17, Hebrews 1:11-12, and others like them).
As the rest of my credentials, I'm as opinionated as the next guy.
Welcome to my world.
Curt
